HMRC to demand data on cryptocurrency holdings

The accountancy firm explained that HMRC’s ‘statement of assets’ form will now include ‘explicit demands’ for information on cryptos and other assets including those commonly used by organised crime

HMRC will begin demanding data on holdings of cryptocurrencies from taxpayers that it suspects are guilty of tax evasion and avoidance, according to UHY Hacker Young.
