MHA, a UK accountancy firm, has entered the Scottish market through a merger with Aberdeen-based Meston Reid and Co. This move enhances MHA’s services for existing clients and aligns with the firm’s growth strategy. All five partners of Meston Reid and Co will remain with MHA, ensuring continuity. MHA is open to further mergers in Scotland and now has 20 offices across the UK.

RSM UK has named Helen Brocklebank as the new office managing partner in Birmingham. She takes over from Mark Taylor, who remains the regional managing partner in the Midlands. The Birmingham office has grown significantly in recent years and is now RSM UK’s largest office outside London. Brocklebank, who joined RSM in 2007, will focus on expanding the office’s presence in the market.

MHA Moore and Smalley has promoted Natalie Taylor and Ben Harrison to directors. Taylor will lead the professional practices team, while Harrison will work in the financial planning team. These promotions reflect the contributions and dedication of both individuals to the firm and its clients. The firm now has 21 directors among its team.

Lynsey Lord has been promoted to partner in Mercer and Hole’s Private Client team. She advises clients on complex domestic and international tax matters. Lord’s promotion brings the total number of partners in the Private Client team to eight at the firm. She joined Mercer and Hole in 2008 and has built a strong client following in the UK and the US, offering practical tax advice.
