Accountancy firm Ballards LLP will be working with Worcester Food Bank to help wrap gifts in advance of Mother’s Day.

Worcester Food Bank opened in June 2012 to provide people in crisis with emergency three-day food parcels. This year, the food bank will be giving out Mother’s Day presents in addition to food and supplies.

It is not the first time the accountancy firm has collaborated with the charity in Worcester. In December 2022, the firm had already chosen the food bank as its nominated charity of the year and decided to help with the organisation of fundraising events.

Ballards’ business services partner Ben Allman said: “The Ballards team is very community-focused, and we all recognise the extreme pressure that local communities are currently under, with many having to make the brave choice to ask for assistance. We were extremely grateful to have been asked to help.”

Ruth Allsopp, operations coordinator at Worcester Food Bank, added: “Since then, we have put any appropriate gifts to one side throughout the year and started wrapping them in the spring.

“This year we had accumulated 13 crates of lovely gifts and were so grateful when Ballards offered to wrap them for us. As we are volunteers at the Food Bank, there is only a certain amount of capacity and wrapping this number of gifts would have taken many hours. They have done a beautiful job.”
