Quantuma appoints new managing director for Middle East practice

Ahmad Chit is a Canadian qualified chartered accountant with more than 15 years of experience in forensic accounting, investigations and compliance

Cross-border advisory firm Quantuma has appointed Ahmad Chit as managing director in its Middle East practice

Chit’s appointment adds further depth to the firm’s growing investigations and asset recovery practice in the region.

During the course of his career, he has led forensic accounting assignments across the MENA Region and held senior roles in the Middle East with major accounting and consulting firms.

He is a Canadian qualified chartered accountant with more than 15 years of experience in forensic accounting, investigations and compliance. His experience includes involvement in a wide array of complex, high-profile and multi-million-dollar investigations and disputes across the Middle East, Africa, North America and Europe.

He has been based in the Middle East for 10 years, during which time he has worked with the private sector, local courts, public prosecutors, ministries, local regulators and law enforcement agencies in the region.

His regional experience includes work submitted to international courts (DIAC/LCIA), the United Nations, the US Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US.

His arrival at Quantuma in the Middle East follows the firm’s appointment of restructuring expert and managing director Nigel Smith in the autumn of 2023.

Earlier this year, Lynsey Gregory, former HSBC Middle East regional head of litigation and regulatory enforcement for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey region, joined as general counsel for Quantuma’s parent company, K3 Capital Group Ltd. In February 2023, K3 Capital Group was acquired by an affiliate of Sun European Partners, LLP.

On his appointment Chit said: “I am delighted to have joined Quantuma and to be joining forces once more with Yaser Dajani. The firm has huge ambition, and I am looking forward to playing my part in developing the firm’s brand, reputation and capabilities in the region.”

Middle East lead and managing director, Yaser Dajani said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Ahmad, who is joining the Quantuma team at a pivotal juncture. This comes as we press ahead with our ambitious growth agenda across the region.

“Quantuma is recognised as an independent, international and premier provider of specialised advisory services and is exceptionally positioned to support corporations and government bodies in addressing their most formidable challenges. Ahmad’s presence in our senior team will be instrumental in this regard.”
