Ballards LLP has advised Harrold Jones Services (HJS) on its sale to Ventro Group, turbocharging Ventro’s national electrical and security capabilities.

HJS, founded in 1979, is a Midlands provider of electrical, security, fire compliance and refurbishment services. Its acquisition gives Ventro a stronger nationwide platform as it accelerates its strategy to offer fully integrated building compliance solutions.

Ballards’ Corporate Finance and Tax teams delivered full vendor support, including financial and tax due diligence, deal structuring and SPA coordination.

James Maynell, partner at Ballards LLP, said: “Supporting HJS through this milestone deal has been a real privilege. Our joined-up approach ensured a smooth process and a standout result. It also reflects the growing strength of our Corporate Finance team across the Midlands following our expansion into Birmingham.”

Elizabeth Parsons, Director at HJS, added: “Ballards were exceptional from start to finish. Their clarity, professionalism and relentless attention to detail kept the entire transaction running seamlessly.”

Harvey Melvin, Group CEO of Ventro, said: “This acquisition marks an exciting step for Ventro, significantly expanding our electrical and security offering and enhancing our industry-leading expertise.”

The deal was completed in November 2025 with no disruption to HJS operations.
