Menzies has announced a merger with London-based firm Butler and Co to expand its presence in the capital. Butler and Co specialises in audit and international clients, with its 12-person team joining Menzies’ existing 150-person London office. This merger strengthens Menzies’ audit capabilities and enhances its global reach through the HLB network, supporting its 5-year growth plan to reach £75 million in turnover by June 2025.

Shaw Gibbs has acquired Northampton-based accountancy firm DNG, marking its fourth acquisition in the last six months. This move expands Shaw Gibbs’ presence to six offices across locations like Oxford, Basingstoke, and London. DNG’s expertise and dedicated team align with Shaw Gibbs’ growth strategy, ensuring a collaborative and successful future.

Rayner Essex, a St. Albans and London-based accounting and advisory firm, has promoted Alex Walsh to director of corporate finance and audit. With over two decades of experience at the firm, Walsh will oversee client relationships, audit engagements, and provide strategic financial guidance. His expertise in corporate finance and audit will help clients navigate complex business challenges.

Carpenter Box, a Sussex and South East-based accountancy firm, has welcomed 15 new trainees onto its premium training program. These trainees will work towards ACCA or ACA qualifications, gaining professional study and on-the-job experience. Most of the trainees have joined the Assurance and Advisory team, while some have joined the Business Services Group and StarBox, focusing on finance and tax advice for new media companies.
