DJH Mitten Clarke has acquired Lyon Griffiths, an accountancy practice based in Nantwich. The move is part of DJH Mitten Clarke’s strategy to enhance its business advisory service through technology and expand its presence in the North of England. The acquisition will provide Lyon Griffiths access to in-house specialist services, including R&D, capital allowances, commercial funding, and corporate finance. The Nantwich team will benefit from increased investment in training, development, recruitment, and well-being. Following a rebrand, Lyon Griffiths will operate under the DJH Mitten Clarke banner, becoming the Nantwich office for the group. James Stokes, MD of Lyon Griffiths, will lead the Nantwich team.

Accountancy firm Carpenter Box has expanded its presence in Brighton to accommodate growing demand for its tax, accountancy, business advice, and wealth management services. The firm, which previously operated from shared office space, now has dedicated premises for its Brighton team. This expansion will help Carpenter Box cater to High Net Worth individuals and promote its StarBox brand, serving new media entrepreneurs. Stuart Noakes, partner and head of Tax Services at Carpenter Box, will lead the new Brighton office.

Clewes will oversee the integration of tax services into the company’s offerings to ensure comprehensive assistance to clients. This appointment reflects Prime Accountants Group’s growth strategy and commitment to providing holistic financial services.

KPMG Scotland is set to onboard 86 graduates and apprentices across its offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. The firm’s intake for 2023 includes professionals in audit, consulting, tax, law, technology, data analytics, and more. Approximately 63 of the new recruits will join the audit practice, with others working in tax, deal advisory, and consulting. KPMG emphasises equal opportunity and aims to provide support for all recruits to thrive in their careers. The program includes a five-day induction focusing on face-to-face interactions and critical skills development.
