Private equity firm HG has hired investment bankers at JP Morgan to oversee its proposed auction of accountancy firm Azets, according to Sky News.

It has been reported that a price tag of between £1bn and £1.5bn will be put on the accountancy firm.

Azets is one of the largest providers of business-critical services such as accounting work, payroll and tax to small and medium-sized businesses in northern Europe.

In total, it boasts more than 100,000 SME customers.

The company trades under a number of brands, including Blick Rothenberg, which formed part of a 2016 merger that saw Hg become a shareholder in the business.

Hg has been contacted for comment.
