Duncan and Toplis has announced the appointment of Nicholas Smith as head of tax, who officially assumed the role earlier this week (20 April).
As the new head of tax, Smith will be responsible for leading the company’s tax service line and will oversee a team providing advice on private client services, corporate tax and restructuring.
Smith’s remit includes inheritance tax planning, R&D tax relief and international tax matters. He will work across the business to support clients with their tax positions.
News of the appointment follows continued investment by Duncan and Toplis in its tax capability, as the firm aims to provide advice to organisations and individuals across various sectors.
Damon Brain, chief executive of Duncan and Toplis, said: “Nicholas has a strong understanding of our clients and the challenges they face. He leads an exceptional team, and together they play an important role in supporting businesses and individuals with reliable tax advice that helps them plan ahead and manage risk.”
Smith added: “I am delighted to take on this role and look forward to continuing to work closely with our clients. We have a strong team in place, and my focus is on ensuring we provide advice that is relevant and supports clients in making informed decisions as needs evolve.”
