Duncan and Toplis has announced that Kay Botley, Business Services director and head of Healthcare, has been appointed to the board of the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA).

AISMA is a specialist network of accountancy firms dedicated to advising healthcare professionals and GP practices.

Kay officially joined the board on 1 May 2026 and her appointment follows over two decades of experience in the sector, having joined Duncan and Toplis in 2001.

Her work focuses on long-term financial planning, income maximisation, and tax management for healthcare organisations across the Midlands and East Anglia.

Kay also leads the production of the firm’s annual healthcare benchmarking report, a tool used by practices to measure financial performance against local and national averages.

The appointment comes as the healthcare sector faces intensified pressures, including funding constraints, regulatory demands, and workforce challenges.

Damon Brain, chief executive officer at Duncan and Toplis, said: “Kay’s appointment is a reflection of the expertise she has built over many years and the trusted relationships she has developed across the healthcare sector. This appointment further strengthens our healthcare offering and reinforces our commitment to delivering real value to clients.

“I’m delighted to join the AISMA board. Healthcare providers continue to face significant financial and operational pressures, and having access to specialist advice has never been more important. I’m looking forward to sharing insights and continuing to support our clients as the sector evolves.”
