Professional services group Duncan and Toplis has appointed Charles Burrell as assurance director at its Derby office.

Burrell joins the leadership team one year after the company opened its first location in Derbyshire to expand its regional portfolio.

The appointment follows 15 years of audit experience across the manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and charity sectors in the East Midlands.

Burrell previously held senior audit roles at several organisations where he was responsible for scaling business operations and driving strategic growth.

Director at Duncan and Toplis Gary Underwood said: “We’re pleased to welcome Charles to the Duncan and Toplis team here in Derby. His wealth of experience in audit, leadership and business development makes him a fantastic addition to our team.

“As we celebrate a year of growth and opportunity in Derby, Charles will play an instrumental role in continuing this momentum and ensuring we have the skills and expertise to deliver exceptional client service.”

Burrell said: “I’m thrilled to have joined the Duncan and Toplis team and am looking forward to getting stuck into my new role. The business has a strong reputation, is well-recognised in the East Midlands and has a great culture, so I’m very proud to be leading the audit team in Derby and working with them to drive strategic growth.

“My focus will be on utilising my contacts in Derby and Nottingham to grow our portfolio, as well as sharing my expertise with the wider team, to ensure we can continue to support the diverse needs of our clients to the best of our ability.”
