Accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael has promoted seven employees to senior leadership positions across its Scottish offices.

The appointments include one new partner and six directors within the company’s legal, technology and life sciences, rural, and business advisory practices.

Chief legal officer Keith Hamilton has been promoted to partner after joining the business in January 2023.

The firm promoted Natalie Robertson, Suzanne Harrold, Kim Lawrie, Calum Purdie, Chris Dick, and Michael Larg to the position of director. The newly appointed leaders operate across offices in Edinburgh, Elgin, and Tayside.

The promotions follow the 90th anniversary of the company, which employs staff across the UK. The business manages corporate advisory, tax, and audit services for agricultural, technology, and food sectors.

Lynne Walker, chief executive, said: “Our people are what make Johnston Carmichael and these promotions reflect the depth of talent, expertise and ambition we’re building for the future. As we mark our 90th anniversary, we remain focused on providing a platform where our people can build great careers, develop their leadership skills, and make a real difference for our clients and communities.”

Mark Houston, chair and senior partner, said: “Keith and our new directors embody the values and ambition that define Johnston Carmichael. Each has shown exceptional leadership, driving our firm forward through collaboration, quality, and care for our clients and communities. I congratulate all those who have been promoted on this well-deserved recognition.”
