Global professional services firm Alvarez and Marsal (A&M) has appointed Daniel Mahler as managing director of its retail and consumer team.
Mahler joins the firm’s EMEA corporate transformation services practice from The Estée Lauder Companies in New York.
During his tenure as executive vice president, he managed enterprise-wide strategy and integrated business planning.
The appointment is intended to strengthen A&M’s European operations, which are currently led by Andre Medeiros and Erin Brookes.
Mahler previously spent 20 years at Kearney, where he led the Americas region and advised clients across the food, beauty, and retail sectors.
His professional background includes leading global performance improvement programmes and managing merger integrations.
The expansion comes as the firm seeks to increase its transformation offerings across Europe and international markets.
Erin Brookes, Retail and consumer co-lead EMEA, said: “Daniel’s hands-on operating experience, strategic acumen, and global perspective make him a great asset to our clients. As consumer and luxury businesses navigate rapid shifts in market dynamics, Daniel’s ability to translate complexity into decisive action will help drive meaningful impact.”
Mahler added: “Consumer and luxury companies are facing dramatic pressures – from fragmenting consumer demand, unprecedented geopolitical pressures, and accelerating challenger brand competition.
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen that strategic clarity is necessary but not sufficient. Disciplined execution and a results-obsessed approach to transformation can unlock substantial value.”
