BDO has announced the appointment of Andrew McIntosh as a partner to its Yorkshire and North-East audit team.
McIntosh joins the firm’s Leeds office following 15 years at PwC.
The appointment follows a period of expansion for the regional team. BDO recently promoted Jeff Gardner to partner and hired Ben Coggin and Tim Day as partner and managing director respectively.
McIntosh specialises in digital audit and the auditing of IT systems. He will support businesses across the region with data auditing techniques as BDO anticipates regional growth will outpace London in the coming years.
The firm employs more than 7,500 people across the UK. It expects to continue investment in the North-East to manage increasing regulation and complexity within the audit sector.
Dan Brookes, partner in Yorkshire and North-East at BDO, said: “It’s brilliant to be announcing another partner appointment as part of our continued growth in Yorkshire and the North East and our investment in the region.
“As a local and global adviser, we have the scale to assemble the best group of specialists and sector experts from our national and international network while maintaining the ability to be innovative and understand the markets in which our clients operate. We’ll continue to invest in our people and their development to ensure we attract and nurture the region’s top talent.”
McIntosh added: “BDO’s reputation for helping ambitious businesses to succeed is exactly what attracted me, and the current momentum in the Leeds office was very compelling. What excites me most is the opportunity to work with talented colleagues, in a positive culture, while helping them navigate the shift towards digital audit techniques and advanced analytics.
“I look forward to supporting clients as they navigate increasing complexity, regulation and change and find opportunities for growth.”
