UHY Hacker Young has announced the promotions of Chris McKain to partner and Hannah Kasem to director at its Nottingham office, strengthening its senior audit and tax advisory leadership

McKain has been with the firm for more than 10 years and works in the Nottingham audit team. He advises not-for-profit organisations, including sporting bodies, as well as owner-managed businesses and larger corporate groups across the East Midlands.

His work includes audit and assurance, sector-specific audits and due diligence assignments. Before joining UHY Hacker Young, he trained and worked at two other large UK accounting firms.

Meanwhile, Kasem has been promoted to director in the Nottingham tax advisory team. She trained with the firm and advises owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals on corporate and private client tax matters.

Her work includes tax planning, succession planning and advice on business exits, with a particular focus on personal tax and inheritance tax.

Andrew Timms, managing partner at UHY Hacker Young Nottingham, said: “These promotions reflect the commitment and expertise Chris and Hannah have brought to the firm.

“I am proud that they have grown and developed with the firm to become trusted advisers in their fields. UHY Nottingham has shown exceptional growth over the last five years – doubling in revenues in that time. Hannah and Chris are well placed to be a significant part of the firm’s future in the city.”
