BK Plus has appointed Brett Marsden as corporate finance partner, strengthening its deal advisory capability and expanding its presence across the North of England.

Marsden will be based in Manchester, where he will lead the development of a northern deal advisory team.

He will work closely with the firm’s Birmingham-based corporate finance team, led by Tom Parry, advising owner-managed and small and medium-sized businesses on acquisitions, disposals, funding and shareholder planning.

He joins BK Plus with more than a decade of experience advising businesses across the UK on mid-market transactions.

His work has spanned a range of sectors, with a particular focus on software, technology and business services, and has included cross-border deals, private equity investment and buy-and-build strategies.

BK Plus said Marsden is well known within the northern dealmaking community and has advised both founder-led and private equity-backed businesses on transactions and growth strategies.

His transaction experience ranges from early-stage growth deals to lower mid-market transactions.

Marsden said the role presented an opportunity to build a regional advisory team supported by the firm’s wider platform.

The appointment forms part of its continued investment in a national advisory team, aimed at providing local access to specialist deal support backed by wider expertise.

He said: “This role is particularly exciting to me as I have the opportunity to lead the development of a deal advisory team in the North, closely supported by the continuing success of the existing team in Birmingham.”

Mark Parsons, head of advisory at BK Plus, added: “Brett is a high-calibre appointment for us. He brings strong deal experience, a trusted network, and a practical approach that fits exactly with how we work with clients.”
