The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has signed an agreement with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research to expand global professional training.

The memorandum of understanding will see both organisations jointly design and deliver learning pathways. The educational programmes will focus on finance, corporate sustainability, digital innovation, entrepreneurship, public financial management, and business ethics.

The initiative will combine ACCA qualification content with UNITAR’s international distribution network. The joint initiative aims to improve institutional resilience and workforce readiness across diverse regions through both online and offline learning portals.

The organisations are currently developing a joint action plan to identify collaborative projects.

Helen Brand, chief executive of ACCA, said: “Developing financial and business skills with sustainability and ethics at their heart is vital for a successful and inclusive future, and we look forward to working on this with UNITAR.”

Michelle Gyles-McDonnough, executive director at UNITAR, said: “This MOU reflects our shared commitment to advancing the technical capabilities of finance, business, and accounting for both individuals and the public sector, while recognising the vital importance of doing so through ethical, sustainable, and inclusive approaches.”
