The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has appointed Claire Lindridge as its director, Policy and Insights.

Lindridge joins from the UK’s independent regulator of accountants, auditors, actuaries and corporate governance, the Financial Reporting Council, where she was director of Audit Market Supervision.

Working in a variety of leadership roles during her 19-year career at the FRC, Lindridge established and led the Audit Market Supervision team which supervised the larger audit firms’ quality management, culture, governance and risk management. Prior to joining the FRC, she trained and worked as an auditor at Deloitte.

She succeeds Mike Suffield who retired in September. Welcoming her to ACCA, Alan Hatfield, executive director – Content, Quality and Innovation, said: “We’re very much looking forward to working with Claire to ensure ACCA makes the most valuable contribution possible by powering our policy and insights across the global profession and the wider stakeholder community.”

Lindridge added: “I’m excited to be joining ACCA and working with the team and members around the world on the future development and delivery of ACCA’s Policy and Insights. I look forward to playing a key role in supporting our members and the wider accountancy community with our cutting-edge research, and by focusing on our global policy priorities of bridging the skills gap, driving sustainable business and championing the professional accountant.”
