Bishop Fleming has announced the appointment of Matt Tyler as its new business development director.

Tyler has a general practice background and brings a wealth of business development experience within mid-tier accountancy firms, having built and led successful commercial departments with a strong focus on growth and client service.

Originally from South Staffordshire, Tyler has deep roots across the West Midlands, with established connections throughout Birmingham, the Black Country, Worcester, Solihull, Tamworth, Stafford, and Stoke.

His appointment marks the fourth senior hire in the Birmingham office in just five months, reinforcing Bishop Fleming’s continued investment in Birmingham.

Tyler said: “I’m thrilled to join Bishop Fleming at such an exciting stage in its journey. The firm’s investment into Birmingham and its people-first culture align perfectly with my personal ambition to help entrepreneurial, family-run businesses across the region to thrive.

“The opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team that’s focused on delivering growth across the Midlands is incredibly motivating, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the firm’s expansion and supporting businesses that are the backbone of the regional economy.”

Charles Davey, head of markets, added: “The West Midlands is a key growth market for Bishop Fleming, and Matt’s appointment reflects our commitment to building a strong regional and local presence.

“His expertise will enable us to strengthen relationships with ambitious businesses and deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of this market. This strategic investment positions us to expand our footprint and create lasting value for clients across Birmingham and the West Midlands.”

The appointment comes as Bishop Fleming continues to expand its Birmingham office, which is on course to mirror the scale and success of its Bristol office.
