Prime Accountants Group has appointed experienced adviser Stuart Gooderham as a director in its tax team as part of the firm’s ongoing expansion across the West Midlands.

Gooderham joins from Cooper Parry and brings almost 20 years’ experience supporting private and owner-managed businesses.

He will focus on business, corporate and owner-managed business tax, working alongside fellow director Paislei Godley, who leads on personal tax.

After starting his career in audit, Gooderham moved into tax and has since specialised in advising companies on compliance and regulatory changes.

He said he was drawn to Prime’s reputation and culture after meeting managing director Morgan Davies and former managing director Kevin Johns.

Gooderham is the third new director to join Prime in the past 12 months. Davies said the appointment supported the firm’s wider growth strategy.

Prime Accountants Group has offices in Solihull, Birmingham and Coventry.

Gooderham said: “When I met with Morgan and Kev, I could see that their values closely aligned with mine, particularly their focus on maintaining a great culture, looking after their staff and delivering high-quality service to clients.

“This fits really well with my own values and with the direction in which the firm is heading. I want to ensure we continue to deliver proactive advice and keep clients compliant amid constantly changing tax laws.”

Davies added: “Stuart’s appointment fits perfectly with our ongoing plans to strengthen our team of experts. His knowledge of working with owner-managed businesses aligns with our client base, and his ability to stay across an ever-changing regulatory landscape will be invaluable.”
