BDO has announced that it has promoted 30 partners as well as nearly 2300 people across the entire business, which is almost a third of the firm.

Effective from 1 November 2023, the partner promotions follow the appointment of 19 new external partners since January, taking BDO’s partnership to more than 450.

Some 13 people have been promoted to partner in BDO’s audit team, four have been promoted in its tax team and one has been promoted in its IT team.

Furthermore, 11 people have been promoted to partner across its business restructuring, business services and outsourcing, forensic accounting services, and M&A teams.

Over a third (36.6%) of the partner promotions are in regions outside of London, and over two fifths (43%) sit within the firm’s audit practice.

In addition the company has promoted more than 1,200 people in its audit practice, 560 in advisory, over 330 in its tax team and a further 164 across its support functions.

Paul Eagland, managing partner, said: “Recognising the talent and efforts of our people and celebrating success is incredibly important to us, and I want to extend my congratulations to every person within the firm who has been promoted.

“Each of our 30 new partners should be commended on their commitment to supporting the businesses we work with, finding solutions to challenges and driving the growth of BDO. During a time when UK businesses are facing numerous complex challenges, they have demonstrated excellent leadership skills. Becoming a partner is a rigorous but rewarding process and our new partners should be incredibly proud of this achievement.”
