Haysmacintyre has announced the appointment of Emma Bernardez as its new head of hospitality. She succeeds Andrew Ball who, after more than 15 years in the role, has been appointed senior hospitality partner

Over the last 15 years, Ball has built a team of 60 people and developed a range of sector-specific services that are now delivered to over 140 clients.

Bernardez first joined the firm as a trainee before being made a partner. At the firm, she has developed specialist expertise across a broad range of topical issues and has established a strong client base within the hospitality sector, ranging from restaurant, bar and hotel groups, to leisure operators and F&B start-ups.

In addition, she is also an active contributor to sector organisations such as Propel Hospitality and Bread and Jam, with knowledge of the latest developments and needs of the sector.

Ball said: “Emma’s appointment to head of hospitality is a testament to her excellent work in the team. She has provided high quality support and advice to both her clients and colleagues, and it has been fantastic to see her develop throughout her career to date at the firm.

“Emma has been instrumental in driving our hospitality sector’s growth and I look forward to seeing her excel in her new role. In my new role as senior hospitality partner I will continue working closely with my clients, attend industry events and work with Emma on the strategic direction of the hospitality team.”

Bernardez added: “As the hospitality industry moves from challenge to challenge, it has been a pleasure to work alongside our clients and dedicated team to seize new opportunities and adapt to changing circumstances as they evolve.

“I’d like to thank Andrew for all his support to this point and I’m looking forward to continuing to build on the hospitality team’s fantastic work as we continue working with and adding value to businesses across the sector.”

Natasha Frangos, managing partner at Haysmacintyre, said: “We are excited to appoint Emma at this time and recognise her contribution to the sector to date. Emma’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the next generation of talent are equipped with the right skills to become future leaders of the firm.

“I have no doubt that Emma’s knowledge, commitment and determination will enable us to build on Andrew’s success in the sector whilst bringing a fresh perspective and approach to the ever-changing business environment.”
