Quantuma has entered into a strategic alliance with Sydney-based insolvency expert, Cathro and Partners, to further boost its international growth.

The move follows the establishment of its offices in Singapore in April 2022, led by managing directors Luke Furler and Ellyn Tan.

Team members from the UK are expected to arrive in Singapore in early 2023 to provide additional support as the team responds to the “very significant demand” for its specialist advisory services amid uncertain global economic conditions and financial market turbulence.

Quantuma managing director and head of its APAC region, Luke Furler said: “I am delighted to be joining forces with Simon Cathro and his highly regarded team. With challenging international headwinds, demand for our services in Asia Pacific has grown exponentially, and having a presence in Australia through the alliance with Cathro and Partners strengthens our position across the region.

“We have intentions to develop our alliance network in APAC with like-minded firms across the region, with an immediate focus on key markets including China which, together with Cathro and Partners, will allow us to become a major force in APAC.”

Simon Cathro, managing partner at Cathro and Partners added: “The alliance we are announcing today is an important milestone in our growth strategy for the restructuring and insolvency practice within Australia. It builds upon the strategic alliance we signed with Perth-based Auxilium earlier this year.

“Partnering with an international firm will ensure we have full access to global opportunities and talent and will help us to continue to service in-country clients. Of course, when forming an affiliation, it is important for both parties to share the same values, something we feel confident we have found with Quantuma.”
