Scottish accountancy firm French Duncan has promoted directors Tommy Bates and Elizabeth Leonard to partners.
Bates has over 20 years of service at French Duncan and has been with the audit department since 2001, having qualified with a national accountancy firm.
Leonard started her career at French Duncan, undertaking her tax traineeship in the late 1990s. She returned to the firm in 2021 as tax director, managing the corporate tax compliance function and the tax team.
French Duncan is a mid-tier firm headquartered in Glasgow and employs over 200 staff.
Graeme Finnie, managing partner, said: “We’re delighted to announce these well deserved promotions within two of our core service lines, which sum up the dedication and commitment of Tommy and Elizabeth to the firm. Both Tommy and Elizabeth have contributed hugely to their respective departments and I couldn’t be more pleased that this has been recognised.”
Stephen Hughes, partner and chair, added: “I have known both Tommy and Elizabeth for some years now, having been at French Duncan when Elizabeth completed her traineeship with us back in the nineties. Tommy and I have worked on many audits together over the years and he’s been a constant support during that time.
“It’s been a real pleasure welcoming Elizabeth back to the firm and it’s no surprise to anyone that she has progressed as quickly as she has.”
