Azets appoints office managing partner in Stockport

Prior to joining Azets in 2020, Hankinson headed up the tax division at a forensic accountancy firm and also ran and managed his own tax advisory practice

Azets has announced the appointment of Noel Hankinson as office managing partner in its Stockport office as the firm plans to grow the business regionally.

Hankinson is an experienced tax partner with over 20 years experience. He advises SMEs, owner managed businesses and international groups on all aspects of UK taxation.

Prior to joining Azets in 2020, he headed up the tax division at a forensic accountancy firm and also ran and managed his own tax advisory practice.

Azets said Hankinson’s strengths are building client relationships and providing proactive, practical solutions to tax issues.

Hankinson said: “Our dynamic and ambitious team in Stockport is expanding and I’m thrilled to take a leadership role in growing the practice. As a result of the pandemic, we’re seeing more companies looking to use local firms.

“I would not be able to lead the office without the wonderful people I work with and I plan to invest time in developing a regional team of experts who are highly trained, motivated and recognised.”

Graham Rigby, regional managing partner at Azets in the North West, added: “I’m delighted to congratulate Noel on his promotion to Stockport office managing partner. He brings a wealth of experience and great people-management skills to the role.

“We’ve got ambitious growth plans in the North West. Ensuring we continue to develop future leadership signals the confidence and commitment we have in the market; Noel’s promotion reflects the importance we place on delivering the best service possible to our clients across the region.”
