S&W has appointed Caroline Hadfield as business tax director in its tax advisory team, based in Manchester.
Hadfield joins S&W from Vita, where she led all group tax matters, including the acquisition and funding of development sites, international expansion (Spain, India, UAE, US), securing over £2bn in blue-chip debt, and completing disposals worth more than £1.5bn.
She was also previously tax director at Grant Thornton LLP, where she specialised in transaction taxes across the North West region.
The firm said Hadfield brings “extensive experience” in business transformation and operational excellence, having worked with a wide range of clients across sectors to deliver scalable solutions and drive performance.
In her new role she will focus on expanding the firm’s regional presence and tax offering.
Hadfield said: “I am excited to join S&W at such a pivotal time in its growth and bring the quality and expertise of the S&W brand to clients in the North West. I’ve been particularly impressed by the firm’s emphasis on client service, and a key driver for me going forward is to deliver this personal, bespoke approach to businesses locally.
“I look forward to building strong relationships and, drawing on my years of leading an in-house tax team, to offer clients a fresh new perspective.”
Donna Bulmer, North Regional managing partner at S&W, added: “Caroline’s appointment is a clear signal of our ambition to grow our business tax offering and continue investing in talent that enhances the value we deliver to clients. Her experience and leadership will be a great asset to our team and to the businesses we support.”
