Business advisory firm Quantuma has appointed forensic accounting specialist Sue Nightingale as a director in its disputes, investigations and valuations practice.

She will be based mainly in the firm’s Guildford office, working with clients across London and the South East.

Nightingale joins from a top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm, where she was a director in its forensic accounting and valuations team.

Her work included expert and other dispute-related business valuations, along with non-contentious valuations for UK tax and commercial purposes for small and medium-sized companies and private equity-backed businesses.

She began her forensic career with an 11-year spell in a Big Four forensic team, working on UK and international investigations and assessing losses in complex, high-value commercial litigation

She has also held senior in-house roles, including serving as shadow valuation expert at a large specialist family law firm advising on high-value divorce finance cases.

Nightingale has experience across commercial litigation, divorce, expert determination and insolvency proceedings, acting for claimants and defendants.

Her caseload has included work for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, partnerships and businesses with complex capital structures.

She regularly advises on disputes involving contractual issues, business interruption, professional negligence and investor fraud, as well as contentious valuations in matrimonial and shareholder matters.

Her appointment follows the arrival of managing director Hannah Griffin, who joined the disputes, investigations and valuations team in Birmingham earlier this year.

Nightingale said: “I am delighted to be joining Quantuma and to be working within the firm’s dynamic disputes, investigations and valuations team. Quantuma has ambitious growth plans which are reflected in a commitment to increase our capabilities in the South East region. I am looking forward to supporting these ambitions and playing a key role in growing the team.”

Gavin Pearson, Quantuma managing director and head of disputes, investigations, added: “I am very pleased to welcome Sue to the disputes, investigations and valuations team as we continue to grow our market presence, particularly in London and the South East. It is great to see Sue rejoining Kate Hart and other members of the Guildford team who she has worked with previously.”
