Forvis Mazars has appointed Fred Dearden as a partner and UK head of private equity, as it seeks to expand its offering in the space.
The global professional services network said it hopes to provide advice to business owners, private equity backed businesses and private equity funds throughout their investment cycle.
Based in London, Dearden will concentrate on expanding the firm’s specialist cross-service private equity team, while continuing to grow a private equity-focused M&A practice that aids business owners seeking new or additional investment.
He steps into his new role with nearly 15 years of experience, including a tenure as director at Forvis Mazars during which he devised and spearheaded the firm’s focus on private equity in the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Dearden said: “I’m delighted to take on this role at such a pivotal time for the private equity market. My focus is on deepening our sector expertise, expanding our capabilities, and consistently delivering a client experience that adds real value across the investment cycle.”
The firm’s UK M&A lead Dave Hilton added: “It’s a privilege to support exceptional colleagues like Fred to realise their potential and achieve partnership. Fred has been instrumental in developing our private equity offering and driving outstanding results for clients. His expanded role will help us take the client experience even further, providing investors and management teams with the high‑quality advice they rely on.”
Gareth Jones, UK head of growth, said: “Fred’s deep sector knowledge and his commitment to delivering excellence for clients have already had a significant impact. I’m confident he will continue to strengthen our private equity practice and ensure clients receive a level of service that truly differentiates us in the market.”
