Affinia has agreed to combine with the London, Nottingham, and Brighton offices of UHY Hacker Young to operate under the brand UHY Affinia, joining the broader UHY Hacker Young UK network.

The transaction, backed by Sovereign Capital Partners, creates a consolidated entity with £100m in annual revenue and a 1,000-person workforce operating across 17 offices.

Affinia said the move positions the group as a Top 25 UK accountancy provider with a “significant” nationwide footprint. The 10 other UK member firms within the UHY Hacker Young network will continue to operate as independent entities.

On a consolidated basis, the total UHY UK network, including both UHY Affinia and the independent members, will boast revenues exceeding £150m.

Through its membership in UHY International, the firm gains access to a global network with collective revenues surpassing $1bn (£740m) across 95 countries.

The transaction reflects an accelerating trend of private equity-backed consolidation in the UK accounting sector as mid-tier firms seek the scale required for investment in AI-driven audit tools and ESG reporting suites.

Darren Redmayne, group CEO of Affinia, said: “By joining forces with UHY, we are creating a Top 25 UK provider with the scale, ambition, and investment to grow nationally while staying focused on what matters most: our clients, colleagues, and the communities we serve.”

Subarna Banerjee, managing partner of UHY Hacker Young, added: “This transaction marks a significant step in the evolution of UHY in the UK. Together we are building a business of meaningful scale, well positioned to lead through the transformation taking place across the accounting profession.”
