Business advisory firm Quantuma has promoted restructuring specialist Richard Easterby to managing director, strengthening its senior team in the Midlands.

Easterby, who is based in Birmingham, is a licensed insolvency practitioner and heads Quantuma’s restructuring and insolvency team in the city.

He has nearly 20 years’ experience advising company directors, lenders and other stakeholders on distressed and insolvency situations.

He joined Quantuma in 2014 from the insolvency team of a top 10 accountancy firm, having previously worked at a boutique insolvency practice.

His work has included administrations and liquidations across sectors such as construction, hospitality, leisure, investment and professional sport.

Quantuma has been expanding its Midlands operation, with Easterby working alongside corporate finance specialist Scott Peters.

The firm also appointed additional senior staff in the region last year, including managing director Chris Lewis in restructuring and managing director Hannah Griffin in forensic accounting.

Chris Newell, UK restructuring and insolvency lead at Quantuma, said: “This promotion is thoroughly deserved, as a result of all the hard work, technical ability and ambition that Richard has shown. Richard has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the market.

“I am excited to see Richard step into his new role and look forward to seeing what he can achieve. I feel confident that he will continue to deliver outstanding results for our business clients as we continue on our ambitious growth trajectory.”

Easterby added: “I am really excited about this new role and opportunity. I am particularly looking forward to driving the continued growth of our Birmingham office, expanding our market presence, and helping our talented team to thrive in this dynamic region.”
