FRP has announced it has secured the sale of Jhoots Chemist out of administration to Allied Pharmacies for an undisclosed sum.
Partner Ian Corfield and senior manager Charlie Dagworthy led the process after cash pressures forced the temporary closure of the 68-site portfolio. FRP worked alongside specialist advisers Christie and Co to manage a competitive bidding process.
Allied Pharmacies was selected as the preferred buyer based on its experience and deliverability. The group previously acquired 60 branches from the chain in November 2025.
Jhoots expanded into a national chain after opening its first Birmingham store in 2002. The sale to Allied Pharmacies includes the assets of both Jhoots Chemist and Jhoots Pharmacy.
Joint administrator, Corfield said: “Pharmacies play a crucial role in both the UK healthcare system and on the community high street, so we are pleased to have once again partnered with the market-leading specialists Christie and Co to secure a new home for these sites. We would also like to thank the NHS and General Pharmaceutical Council for their patience and support during this process.”
Chief executive of Allied Pharmacies Suhail Abdullah added: “We are delighted to welcome Jhoots sites into the Allied family, adding to the recent portfolio acquisition of the associated SNJ group. This acquisition reflects our group’s core values of patient care and community service, and we look forward to driving innovation in pharmacy services.”
Jonathan Board, director at Christie and Co, said: “Working closely once again with Ian Corfield and Charlie Dagworthy from leading specialist business advisory firm, FRP Advisory, our accelerated sale process has found a highly experienced buyer in Allied Pharmacies who has the capability and desire to get these 68 pharmacies back up and running in the shortest time possible. This deal highlights the strength and resilience of the UK pharmacy sector and the opportunities for growth through strategic partnerships.”
