The Wrexham-based accountancy and strategic advisory firmThe Uncommon Practice has appointed Shelley Davies as director, as it aims to expand its operations across North Wales and North West England.

The appointment strengthens the leadership team and the company’s strategic offering to small and medium-sized enterprise owners. Davies has more than 25 years of financial experience in industry and practice.

She previously worked as a finance director and has expertise in the construction and hospitality sectors. The firm stated her commercial insight would support its mission to provide strategic advice beyond traditional accountancy.

Davies is expected to focus on building relationships with business owners. The move follows continued investment by the company in its advisory team to support regional businesses with long-term commercial goals.

Founder and director at The Uncommon Practice, Heather Cheetham, said: “Shelley’s appointment as Director is a very exciting step for us. She brings a real depth of experience, a genuine passion for helping businesses succeed, and a style that fits perfectly with our vision and values.

“Shelley’s appointment marks another major step in our growth plans and strengthens the level of strategic support we can offer ambitious local businesses. Our clients want advisers who truly understand the real-world challenges they face and who can offer pragmatic solutions, and Shelley’s experience means she can do exactly that.”

Davies added: “I’m really excited to become a Director at The Uncommon Practice at such an important stage in the company’s journey. What stood out to me was the firm’s vision to offer a different accountancy approach to business owners, and a genuine commitment to solving their clients’ challenges, not just helping them comply.

“There are so many businesses in our region with huge potential, and I’m looking forward to helping them achieve their long-term ambitions.”
