Alvarez and Marsal has appointed Anna Kahn as a managing director in its consumer and retail team, strengthening its European corporate transformation services practice.
Kahn joins the firm’s EMEA business in London, bringing more than 25 years’ experience advising organisations on large-scale transformations and transactions, with a focus on workforce strategy, organisation design and change management.
Her work has spanned the retail and consumer sectors alongside roles in technology, media and telecoms, retail banking and professional services.
In recent years, she has focused on supporting consumer-facing businesses as they adapt strategy, culture and operating models to changing market conditions.
Before joining Alvarez and Marsal, Kahn spent 19 years at EY, where she was a partner in the firm’s people advisory services practice.
During that time, she held a number of senior leadership roles, including leading the EMEIA people consulting practice and the consumer and retail sector team.
She was also seconded as EY’s chief talent development officer, leading a global review of the firm’s talent strategy covering more than 350,000 staff, as working patterns and expectations shifted.
Alvarez and Marsal said the appointment would support the continued expansion of its European consumer and retail practice, which is led by managing directors Andre Medeiros and Erin Brookes, as demand grows for end-to-end transformation support.
Medeiros said: “We are delighted to welcome Anna to A&M. Her depth of experience across large-scale transformation, people strategy, and the consumer and retail sectors makes her a strong addition to our corporate transformation services practice.”
Kahn added: “Organisations today are facing unprecedented transformation driven by shifts in technology, talent expectations, and global market dynamics. Throughout my career, I’ve seen the power of putting people at the centre of change and the impact this can unlock in business performance and results. I’m looking forward to being part of A&M’s action-oriented, results-driven culture, combined with its commitment to long-term value creation and helping clients deliver meaningful and lasting transformation.”
