S&W has announced that it has acquired Vachon, a Paris-based accountancy firm focused on advising foreign-owned companies’ operations in France along with premium mid-market and small French businesses.
The professional services group said the acquisition, supported by Apax Funds who acquired the firm in March 2025, marks a meaningful milestone in its ability to serve European clients as well as its overall overseas expansion plans.
The group added that following its two Irish acquisitions last year, the move strengthens its increasing cross border capabilities and its provisions to internationally active businesses.
Vachon, founded in 1997, offers audit, accounting, tax, payroll and advisory services to SMEs, mid-sized businesses and sizable multinational companies, along with family offices, private investors, investment funds and their portfolio companies.
S&W said the firm’s bilingual workforce of 60, which includes 14 partners, is known for its robust audit and accounting expertise, notably in international accounting standards and cross-border tax and payroll mechanisms.
Vachon will continue to run under its individual brand.
Andrew Wilkes, CEO of S&W, said: “The acquisition of Vachon represents an important milestone in our international expansion strategy. France is a key market for many of our clients, and Vachon’s deep expertise, bilingual capabilities and strong reputation for technical excellence make them an ideal partner.
“The team’s specialist knowledge of French accounting requirements complements our existing offering and strengthens our ability to support clients expanding into Europe. We are delighted to welcome the Vachon team to S&W.”
Bertrand Vachon, founding partner at Vachon, added: “Joining S&W marks an exciting new chapter for our firm and our clients. It is the natural evolution of our international strategy. For nearly 30 years, we have supported leading French and international companies navigating the complexities of the French financial and regulatory environment.
“Becoming part of S&W expands the support we can offer to clients across multiple markets, while maintaining the personalised, bilingual service we are known for. We look forward to the opportunities this brings for both our team and the businesses we serve.”
