MSD Accountants, which has been operating in Dublin since 1990, has announced it has rebranded to DJH Ireland, after it joined UK accountancy group DJH in June.

Following the rebrand, the group now intends to kickstart its expansion plans to hit €10m+ (£8.77m) revenues over the next two years through a combination of organic growth and acquisition

Managing partner Richard Daly and head of Assurance Brendan Murtagh have hailed the first six months of growth from being part of the larger firm, citing the increased capacity and specialisms in corporate finance, IT and HR as being a key factor in a 10% increase in fees for 2025.

The duo is now signalling its intention to kickstart an acquisition drive to snap up small to medium sized accountancy practices across Ireland.

DJH Ireland provides expertise in advisory, assurance, business support services and tax to subsidiaries of multinationals, mid-size private companies, family businesses and large organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Its team work across a broad range of sectors, including professional services, entertainment, hospitality, construction, automotive, distribution, information technology and communications.

According to the group, the partnership has also provided a “natural bridge” to serving clients in both Ireland and the UK.

Backed by Tenzing Private Equity, DJH is aiming to become one of the UK’s top 20 accountancy and professional services firms.

Following 16 acquisitions in four years, the firm has grown into a multidisciplinary team of 750 people with offices in Altrincham, Bexley, Bury, Chester, Derby, Halesowen, Huddersfield, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Nantwich, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall and the Wirral.

Daly said: “We are really excited about the rebranding to DJH Ireland and adopting the systems and back-up support the group offers.

“Our clients have unanimously approved of the acquisition, and this is the natural progression that was agreed as part of the deal. From a day-to-day perspective, we’ve already seen lots of business referrals, where we are picking up work from our partners in the UK and, vice versa, our existing clients are benefitting from specialists in Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester and Leeds.”

He added: “There’s a lot of consolidation in the Irish accountancy market and we believe the fastest way to grow is to embark on our own M&A strategy, identifying practices that share similar values of client service and trust or bring a different specialist service to our offering. The backing of DJH and its track record in acquisitions has definitely increased the pace of our plans and we are actively looking at new opportunities ready to move forward in 2026.”

Scott Heath, CEO of DJH, concluded: “MSD is our first acquisition in Ireland, and it has been a great addition to the DJH family, with lots of joint opportunities secured and new service offers for our clients. The rebranding was always part of the partnership and will give DJH an important first presence in Dublin and the wider Irish accountancy market.”
