Consilium Chartered Accountants has advised Maven Capital Partners on a £2.6m investment in PowerPhotonic, a laser optics company based in Dalgety Bay, Scotland.

The funding will support PowerPhotonic’s expansion in the UK and United States. The company, which also operates a manufacturing facility in Arizona, designs advanced freeform optics for laser systems used in aerospace, defence, semiconductor, and medical sectors.

Consilium provided financial due diligence on the deal, continuing its long-standing relationship with Maven. The work was led by corporate finance partner Linzi Wilson, with Siobhan Moore and Thomas McGrath.

Craig McGill, investment manager at Maven, said: “Linzi, Siobhan and the Consilium team delivered clear, thorough, and insightful financial due diligence, combining technical expertise with pragmatic, commercial perspective.

“Equally important, they were a pleasure to work with – highly collaborative, responsive, and clear in their communication throughout. Their support gave us real confidence in our decision making and was instrumental in the successful completion of the transaction.”

Wilson added: “It was a pleasure to work with David Milroy and Craig McGill on this project. Maven’s investment will help PowerPhotonic strengthen its position as a global leader and enable it to capitalise on new opportunities globally.”
