Northern Accountants has appointed tax specialist Robert Wilson as associate tax director, as the Leeds-headquartered firm continues its growth towards becoming a top 100 practice.
Wilson, who lives in Harrogate, began his career at Deloitte in 2007 and brings almost 20 years’ experience in corporate and personal tax planning.
He has worked in both boutique and large accountancy firms, advising clients across the business lifecycle – from initial set-up through to company exits.
His areas of expertise include tax-efficient corporate structures and restructures, succession planning, inheritance tax, property income taxation, and land remediation relief.
In his new role, Wilson will support Northern Accountants’ client base of nearly 700 businesses.
Founded in 2008, Northern Accountants has grown into a £3.3m firm and aims to reach £7.8m turnover by 2030.
Phil Ellerby, managing director at Northern Accountants, said: “It’s taken us years to find someone of Rob’s calibre, but it’s his straight-talking, problem-solving focus that makes him the perfect fit for both us, and our clients.
“His priority is to help businesses and their directors navigate the changing demands of the tax environment, clearly, and with their objectives always in mind.”
Wilson added: “I’ve enjoyed a really varied career so far, representing a broad spectrum of clients ranging from ambitious entrepreneurs to large corporate groups.
“But it’s this role that excites me the most – becoming involved in an established but progressive business that never stands still when it comes to client service levels.”
