James Cowper Kreston has provided financial and tax due diligence services to Duncan and Toplis on its acquisition of Leicester-based accountancy firm Torr Waterfield.
Established in 1925, Duncan and Toplis currently operates from 13 offices.
The agreement, which is pending regulatory approval, will see the firm join the Duncan and Toplis group in the coming weeks.
Once complete it will be rebranded as Duncan and Toplis, with all 60 team members – including directors and co-founders Mark Torr and Mike Waterfield – continuing in their current roles.
Its office on Clarence Street will become Duncan and Toplis’ newest location, enhancing the group’s reach across the Midlands and strengthening its presence in Leicestershire.
Brad McAvoy, who led the team at James Cowper Kreston Corporate Finance, supported by Nikul Patel, said: “Our team was delighted to assist fellow Kreston Global Network member, Duncan and Toplis on another acquisition as they continue to expand their offering and presence across the accountancy, business advisory and wealth management market.”
Damon Brain, CEO of Duncan and Toplis, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Torr Waterfield to Duncan and Toplis. Leicester is a key strategic location for us, and this move strengthens our regional presence while adding great people and experience to our team.
“This partnership is not just about growth – it’s about alignment. Mark, Mike, and their team have built a people-focused firm that puts clients first, which reflects our own values. We’re excited to support them as we move forward together.”
