BDO has appointed Ola Fadipe, who has been a senior director at Google since 2019, as a new independent non-executive (INE) at the accountancy firm. With more than two decades of experience in people, talent and culture, Fadipe also has “significant” experience in financial services and consulting, particularly through her previous work at BlackRock where she was the firm’s chief talent office for EMEA.

Fadipe has also served as a non-executive director for HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

She joins three existing non-executive directors at the firm – Eammon McGrath, Jane Guyett and David Matthews.

The INEs serve as members of the firm’s public interest committee (PIC) as well as a number of other governance bodies.

Matt White, senior partner at BDO, said: “For the last 15 years, independent non-executives have played an important role for us at BDO, providing constructive challenge and objective oversight. Ola will bring a fresh perspective on the digital agenda and talent strategies shaping the future of our business, working with the other INEs to support our growth ambitions.

“Her experience will challenge our thinking to ensure our people have meaningful careers in an environment they feel supported to succeed, with a shared purpose to consistently perform high-quality engagements.”

Fadipe added: “The changing shape of the market, its constant evolution and the fierce competition for talent makes the accountancy and business advisory world a really interesting place to be.

“BDO is a firm that is focused on putting people and culture at its heart, being committed to quality and doing the right thing for business and society. I am very much looking forward to sharing my expertise and offering a new perspective, while working alongside the other INEs to collaborate and challenge the firm’s leadership in the delivery of its people and business strategy.”
