Cowgills Business Recovery team has advised on the sale of A B Group Packaging Limited to a third-party purchaser, saving over 40 jobs in South Wales.

A B Group Packaging UK Limited operated from Ebbw Vale, Wales and is the English subsidiary of an Irish-based group of companies that produced packaging and grocery bags for both national and international retailers.

The business has been trading for over 14 years but has faced significant financial hardship following the pandemic. The transaction involved an accelerated sale of the business and assets of the business and ensured the continuity of 41 employment contracts.

Jason Elliott, head of Business Recovery at Cowgills, led the administration

Elliott said: “A B Group Packaging is a very well established business which had for a number of reasons struggled over the last couple of years.

“We have worked with the directors and in these very difficult and uncertain economic times are delighted to have been able to complete a sale to a third party purchaser which saves 41 jobs. We wish the business and all involved the best of luck for the future.”
