Moore Kingston Smith LLP, the multi-disciplinary advisory, tax and audit firm, has appointed Alison Kerrey to the tax technical team and Guy Taylor to the corporate finance team.

A tax policy expert with over 20 years’ experience, the firm said Kerrey is a partner leading the tax technical team and brings vast experience engaging with HMRC and HM Treasury on new and developing tax policy areas, including the government’s Making Tax Digital plan.

A member of various ICAEW and CIOT technical committees, she also chairs the joint ATT-CIOT Digitalisation and Agent Services Committee.

Meanwhile, Taylor is a corporate finance partner, specialising in debt advisory services, focusing on private equity and corporate clients. He has extensive experience in raising various types of debt, including real estate, working capital, asset-based and leveraged debt across multiple industries. Examples of Taylor’s expertise include corporate and private equity acquisitions, dividend recaps and shareholder restructurings.

A Chartered Accountant (FCA) and MBA, he began his finance career in transaction services and M&A, before transitioning into the debt and leveraged lending space over 15 years ago.

Kerrey said: “The tax technical team plays an integral role in developing, empowering and supporting others while championing a knowledge-sharing culture. Moore Kingston Smith’s emphasis on helping their people to grow and realise their potential, as well as providing excellent customer service, really resonates with me.”

Taylor said: “Surrounded by quality people, a vibrant culture and with so much room to grow, as a business and as an individual, there’s plenty of opportunity at Moore Kingston Smith. I’m keen to bring my debt advisory expertise to the award-winning corporate finance team, and collaborate with the wider firm and Moore Global network to help our clients reach their goals.”

Matt Meadows, managing partner of Moore Kingston Smith, added: “Specialists like Alison and Guy share our focus on understanding our clients’ needs. Their calibre of expertise keeps us ahead of the pace of change and well-placed to help our clients, both individuals and businesses, succeed in their endeavours. It’s a pleasure to welcome them to the team.”

These appointments follow five recent internal partner promotions: Anna Matveeva, Francesca Robe, Joseph Adunse, Katherine Edwards and Nicki Savill.
