Leeds accountancy firm BPR Heaton has joined UHY Hacker Young as the group looks to expand its presence further across Yorkshire.
BPR Heaton is a full-service accountancy firm offering audit, accounting, tax and business tax advice services to its client base. The firm has five partners and 35 team members and will rebrand as UHY BPR Heaton.
Mark Andrews, managing partner of BPR Heaton, said the firm was looking forward to expanding its practice beyond the city and further into the surrounding areas of West Yorkshire.
He added that joining the UHY network will allow it to retain a “much greater degree of independence” than if the firm had been sold to a private equity backed consolidator group.
He also noted that access to the UHY International network of firms across 100 countries has already allowed BPR Heaton to take on more cross-border work. It is working closely with UHY member firms in Spain and Germany, for example.
Meanwhile, UHY said the addition of BPR Heaton will help to further expand the geographical reach of the UHY network.
Colin Wright, chair of UHY Hacker Young said: “We’re thrilled to welcome BPR Heaton to the UHY network. It’s exciting to add a Leeds-based firm to the family – it’s been a key target geography for us in our expansion.”
“BPR Heaton’s approach fits with the UHY purpose of helping you prosper, which applies to our teams, clients and local communities, and that was obvious from our first meeting. We’re all looking forward to working with the team in Leeds.”
Andrews added: “Our entire firm is looking forward to joining the UHY network. This is an exciting opportunity for us to serve a larger client base and continue delivering a first-class experience to those we already work with. We’re delighted not to lose the firm’s near-100 year history of independence.”
