Azets strengthens audit practice in the Midlands

The appointment supports the firm’s ambition to quadruple growth within the next five years across its central region.

Azets has strengthened its Audit and Assurance practice in the West Midlands and Shropshire with the appointment of Lee Meredith as audit partner. Meredith has re-joined the firm, having been senior manager with Azets between 2017 to 2020.

In his new role, Meredith will work closely with the firm’s portfolio of SME customers to understand their circumstances and provide tailored advice “at a critical time” for business.

Meredith is a chartered accountant and professional member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW). Previously, he gained experience with a Big Four accounting firm and was most recently associate partner with Haines Watts

Additionally, Meredith has experience in financial reporting, corporate and private client taxation, external audit, assurance reporting, and corporate finance

Azets said the appointment enhances its Audit and Assurance coverage and capability in the region, and supports the firm’s ongoing expansion and ambition to quadruple growth within the next five years across its central region.

Meanwhile, Azets recently announced plans to create 650 jobs in 2022 across all levels, with 100 of those roles based in the Midlands, Shropshire, and Welsh Borders.
