PwC UK appoints new head of tax

As UK tax leader, Hinton’s new role will include leadership of PwC UK’s tax, legal and people and organisation practises

PwC UK has appointed Laura Hinton as its new head of tax.

As UK tax leader, Hinton’s new role will include leadership of PwC UK’s tax, legal and people and organisation practises.

She has over 25 years’ experience as a business consultant, specialising in HR and workforce transformation, operating model programmes and culture change.

Hinton has been a partner in PwC since 2006. Prior to taking on this role, she was PwC UK’s chief people officer, and has been a member of the executive board for over five years, where she was also responsible for the firm’s overall transformation programme.

She succeeds Marrissa Thomas who takes on the role of PwC’s chief operating officer.

Hinton said: “It is great to be back in our tax practice having spent 11 years in tax prior to my people role on the executive board. I take on the role of head of tax at an exciting time, with so much focus on the global role of tax policy and continued legislative change, workforce organisation and the legal landscape, during what continues to be a massive period of transformation.

“I look forward to working with and supporting our clients and people through the changes as we harness opportunities and solve challenges together.”
