Milsted Langdon installs electric vehicle charging stations at Taunton site

The addition of the four charging stations is being done alongside a ‘major refurbishment’ of Milsted Langdon’s Taunton office at Winchester House in Deane Gate Avenue

Milsted Langdon, a South West accountancy firm has announced plans to install new electric vehicles charging stations at its office in Taunton.

The four new electric car charging points will be available to staff to charge their vehicles while at work and were part-funded through a government grant.

Milsted Langdon has accessed funding for the scheme via the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS). This government voucher scheme provides eligible businesses with support towards the upfront costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging points.

The contribution is limited to 75% of purchase and installation costs, up to a maximum of £350 for each socket.

Rob Chedzoy, tax partner at Milsted Langdon, said: “More and more businesses could benefit from installing electric charge points and purchasing electric vehicles, both from a tax perspective and also as a way to boost their eco-credentials.

“Switching to electric cars can bring tax benefits to a business, in the form of benefits in kind, capital allowances, and a reduction in road tax. We have advised many clients already in this area and we hope to help others gain access to this useful funding in future.”
