Sumer Group-owned London accountancy firm, Simmons Gainsford, has officially acquired Fortis Accountants, strengthening its presence in west London and increasing its service capacity for small and medium-sized enterprises.

News of Fortis’ acquisition, which previously operated as an independent firm, follows a period of expansion for Simons Gainsford and the Sumer Group network.

Staff from the west London office will join the Simmons Gainsford team as part of the transition.

According to the firm, the move would allow local clients to access a broader range of professional services while maintaining existing regional relationships.

Darren Hersey, managing partner at Simmons Gainsford, said: “We are delighted to welcome Fortis Accountants to Simmons Gainsford. Their excellent reputation and strong client relationships in west London aligns perfectly with our mission to champion SMEs across the UK. This marks another important milestone in our growth journey.”

Harry Tehocharous, founder of Fortis Accountants, added: “Joining Simmons Gainsford marks an exciting new chapter for our firm. Our clients will benefit from wider service capabilities while continuing to work with the same team they know and trust.

“We’re proud to join an organisation that shares our commitment to supporting SME businesses and the communities we serve.”
