Simmons Gainsford has promoted Chris Cheung, Tom Jeffries and Nick Weller to partner as part of its growth and leadership strategy.

Jeffries joined the firm in 2013 and has more than 10 years’ experience in the property sector. He also chairs the training and development team.

Cheung, who became part of the firm in 2016, works across corporate services, retail and travel. A fluent Cantonese speaker, he is also a member of the Far East helpdesk, which supports East Asian companies operating in the UK.

Weller also joined in 2016 and leads a broad portfolio of clients, including charitable and entrepreneurial organisations. He specialises in audit, advisory and strategic growth services.

Jeffries said: “I’m honoured to be made a partner and I do so with deep gratitude for the colleagues, mentors and friends who have supported me throughout my career.”

Cheung added: “I’m especially grateful to my team, whose dedication and contributions played a crucial role in making this achievement possible. I’m excited to take on the new challenges that await me.”

Weller said: “I am looking forward to further driving forward the success of Simmons Gainsford and the Sumer Group.”

Senior partner Darren Hersey concluded: “We are delighted to welcome Chris, Nick and Tom to our group of partners. Their promotions reflect their commitment to our clients, people and values that define us.”

The promotions form part of the firm’s wider growth strategy and underline its focus on developing talent from within.
