Menzies has appointed five partners across its tax, employer solutions, audit, and restructuring and insolvency teams to support its recent national growth.

The move follows the firm’s expansion into a new Gatwick office and the acquisition of ESG specialists Grain Sustainability. The firm now employs more than 1,000 people.

The first appointment sees tax partner Hayley Worsfold join the Cardiff office to advise owner-managed businesses. Worsfold will also join the business tax strategy group to assist with talent development.

Meanwhile, associate partner Emily James joins the London office to lead international payroll and global mobility services. James has 15 years of experience in cross-border workforce management.

Mark Smith joins the London restructuring and insolvency team as a partner. Smith specialises in the wind down of investment trusts and managed exits within the fintech sector.

The firm also revealed that audit and assurance partner Yuvan Deena joins the Stevenage office having previously held roles at Forvis Mazars, Grant Thornton, and KPMG, working with private equity-backed businesses.

Finally, Jan Charlesworth joins the new Gatwick office as an audit partner and will lead a portfolio of audit clients and oversee the expansion of the regional team.

The firm recently merged with Beever and Struthers, bringing its combined fee income to more than £100m.

Managing partner Simon Massey said: “These appointments reflect the way that we are continuing to grow the firm with the right expertise in the right places, while staying true to our Brighter Thinking approach. Strengthening leadership across Tax, Employer Solutions, Audit and Restructuring & Insolvency teams means we are well positioned to support clients with clear, commercially focused advice as they navigate both change and opportunity in a fast-moving world and economic environment.

“What’s important is that this growth doesn’t dilute how we work. A partner-led approach remains central to Menzies’ operation, and these appointments ensure that clients continue to benefit from direct access to senior expertise. As we expand our reach and services, this combination of capability and close client relationships will be key to how we move forward with confidence.”
