Accountancy firm BK Plus has acquired Huddersfield-based Crowther Chartered Accountants, marking a further expansion of its regional presence across the Yorkshire market.

The move follows BK Plus’s entry into Yorkshire in 2023 via its Halifax office. Since then, the firm has established locations in Brighouse, Keighley, and Sheffield

Crowther Chartered Accountants, which was founded in 1995, specialises in providing tax planning, management reporting, payroll, and strategic advice to owner-managed businesses.

The Huddersfield office will continue to operate under its existing team, led by managing director Steve Crowther.

The integration is designed to maintain local client relationships while providing the Huddersfield practice with access to the broader specialist resources of the BK Plus group.

By adding the Huddersfield site, BK Plus now operates five offices across the region. The group’s strategy focuses on delivering localised professional services backed by a national infrastructure to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Shaun Knight, CEO of BK Plus, said: “I’m welcoming Steve and his colleagues in Huddersfield to bk plus. We’re building real depth across the region, and the addition of Steve and the team adds strength to our service offering in this area of the country.”

Steve Crowther, managing director of Crowther Chartered Accountants, added: “We wanted to join a firm that understood the value of local relationships. Our clients value continuity and personal support. Joining bk plus allows us to retain that approach while giving our team and clients access to broader specialist expertise. It strengthens what we offer without changing how we work.”
