Brown and Co has expanded its workforce with the appointment of five new staff members, as rising client demand continues to drive growth at the accountancy firm.

The business, which operates from offices in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, and Kendal, Cumbria, said the latest hires take its headcount to 30, up from five employees six years ago.

Three of the new recruits have joined the Kendal office at Murley Moss Business Village. Tyreece Barrett and Christine Chapman have been appointed as accountants, while Jed Capstick has joined as an assistant accountant.

Two assistant accountants, Frankie Crosthwaite and Issi-joi Mciver, have joined the firm’s Thornton-Cleveleys office at Marsh Mill Village.

The firm stated that its recent growth reflects increased demand for its services, particularly from businesses seeking support as they expand and navigate changing financial and regulatory environments.

Alongside the team expansion, Brown and Co said it plans to host a series of client events during 2026, following its first Budget Breakfast event held at Fleetwood Town Football Club in November.

Chris Brown, founder and managing director of Brown and Co, said:  “We’re really proud of the relationships that we’re able to build with our clients. It’s important to us that we communicate effectively and don’t use corporate jargon. We talk their language, delivering expert advice in a way which makes sense to busy business owners, and clearly aligns with their ambitions.

“We want each organisation we work with to know they can trust our expertise and our focus on providing quality customer service right across our team. We ensure this by offering a down to earth, yet professional, approach and taking the time to understand each client’s goals, as well as the sectors and environments they operate in.”

He added: “On the back of the excellent turnout and feedback, we’re looking forward to running more events over the next 12 months on topics that our clients and contacts are keen for us to cover.”
